I was wondering if there was any way to lower the height on a stock seat in an '04 Cavalier as it seems the previous owner was either very short or that I have a really long torso. Either way, the seat height is too high and the top of my head touches the roof of the car with only the moonroof well providing enough clearance. I really don't want to just deal with it and drop the incline since this really hurts my back after a half hour of driving.
Not only that, but I can forget about fitting in there with a helmet once I start doing autocross. And although I have been considering racing buckets for some time, I don't have nearly the money to sink into those right now.
Thanks and any comments would be appreciated.
well if you get racing seats it will be worse since they usually sit a little higher unless you make some custom brackets. im sure you can lower the seat but you will need to make a custom bracket for the seats
I thought the Sparco brackets had bolt holes for different seat heights though.
As someone of slightly above-average height (6'2"), I've developed a habit of sitting in reclined position. This makes most budget cars manageable -- except the Mini Cooper. Bigger inside than it looks? No so much.

remove the seat and flip it over . unbolt the slider from the seat. there are a total of three spacers that are mabye a half inch tall( one long one and two short ones, the short ones are welded on)
it is a small amount but it helps

How true. My coworker has a Cooper S and my knees were in my chest.

Thanks. I'll try this next time I can get to someone's garage.
