gauge cluster intall question. QUICK!!
Wednesday, October 18, 2006 7:15 AM
I'm installing my gauge cluster from blackcastcustom.com. First its just one of the generic ones for our 04 cavaliers. anyways, the holes are too small to slide it over the needles. Should(How) do I remove the needles? Should I make the holes a bit bigger?

Also I leave the old one on right? because its not changing that much. I believe thats what the email the guy sent me said(I deleted it. oops)

thanks

also maybe its called an overlay not a cluster. just the things they sell for like $100

1) dont remove the needles or you'll ruin the cluster
2) the holes arent too small.

point all the needles up and then slide the overlay on. it will put a little pressure on the needles and you get towards the bottom but it will fit. ive done alot of these and i never once had to remove a needle

you sure the holes aren't to small. I've tried a few times and the holes are reallllllly small.

can i remove the black rings and not the needles?
there is NO WAY those black things can go in the hole. the black things probably have a larger diameter than the holes themselves

I've been trying what he said for like 3 hours. I'll be lucky if my needles work after this. snug isn't the word. this is tighter than tight.

Well, its not supposed to go over the black part. When you slide them over, it just goes over the needles, and it'll fit under the black part. It will be snug, but you just have to ease them on. It will work, just gotta have some patience
