Okay, I want to due a 2 tone paint on my door panels. I have them painted all black right now. What paint could I use to do the 2nd color without having bubbles in it or eating the black paint? I want to do the 2nd color in silver, the fusion paint does not come in silver at this time. Would I be safe in using model paint from Testor without the complications?
Okay, so I will figure this one out myself.
I would sand off the other color and then respray it with some good paint. SEM and Duplicolor make silver paint.
Do u have the stock texture, sanded/filler primered, fiberglassed, or somethin else???

personally i would use a vinyl dye to save myself the trouble of its gonna scratch off as soon as something touchs it but its gonna be more expensive but as said above sand off the black where u wanna paint it and fiberglass or bondo the texture smooth it will stick better
It is the stock texture. I will get a hand sander and sand it off. That is what I figured I should do though. I just do not wnat to mess with fiberglass at all. Will be sanding it off and then painting the other color.
Tonight I am putting the body filler onto the doors, this afternoon I finished taking the texture off of all 4 of the door panels. This weekend I plan on re-painting the bottom half of the doors black, the upper half silver. Will post pics when finished.
Gotcha, thanks Sndsgood. New to all this painting the interior thing. I did not put the bondo on it last night, got to late when I got around to it. So Saturday morning when I go to get the paint that is needed, I will just get the filler primer and then wet sand it, then paint it.
Okay I finished the painting project on the interior trim pieces. Now I want to dye the carpet, head liner, and both visors. The interior turned out alright, but not perfect. But then we do not live in a perfect world though, and no one said I could paint. But it does look alot better than stock. Now I really need to get that damn suede and finish the interior, that would be nice.
