I am just wondering if anybody knows how to make a low fuel light in sunfire or cavy?

My "check gauges" light always comes on when I'm really low. BTW not "check engine".
its not good to let your car ever get that low on fuel
I assumed all Cavis had this but you didn't say what year yours was. My Cavi (2001) has a seperate light stock on the dash with a picture of the fuel symbol when it gets low. It also has a picture of a thermometer on the same light so I assume they "recycle" the light if the car is overheating as well.
My mom's Cavalier is a 2000 and she gets a "check gauges" light, and mine is an 05 and I get a "check gauges" light too. Stupid Cavy's! lol

I have the Candian gauges and I get a little pic of a gas pump...hehe
I have a 97 and i get the "check guages" light when my gas gets way low

Yep. The 00-05 Canadian clusters have a specific light that comes on when you're running out of gas.
No idea on any others...
does the 00-05 cluster in the states have that light?

Don't depend on the check gauges light! It used to come on in my 98 2200 when I had about a gallon left, but it doesn't anymore. Trust me on this one, I got stranded on the side of the road after depending on it.

Mine comes on at about 1/8 of a tank.
My car slows down and then completely shuts off when I am out of gas.
No lights, no nothing. Except after the car dies. Then it sais "Your a retard"

seriously, my fuel meter is so inaccurate.
what does letting your tank almost go empty do?
Revisiting this post, I think the fuel level sender runs from 0-ohm full to 90 ohm empty.
If you could find a way to have a circuit put together that will turn on/off at a user-set level (probably at 80 ohms), there's your answer.
I don't know that much about using ohms to trip a circuit and what components to use...
ill use my gauge but i also keep track of how many miles i get out of a tank..never can be too carefull
