ok i already did a search for the removal of the rear deck and none of them helped with my problem. I'm gonna replace my stock 6x9s with 2 Sony 6x9s i have here and i tried to remove the rear deck today and everything i tried didn't work. i cant get the thing out of there. seems like the edges that go under the panels are to long to even try to slide them out. i ended up breakin part of the board edge and the seat belt holder in half trin to get it out of there. Any help for me?
i know it was posted before, thats hopw i found it, but i dont feel like searching so here goes (this is from memory, so if i miss anything someone please let me know)
1. remove back of rear seat be removing clip on pass side then folding to a 45 deg, angle and pushing to pass side, pull out driver side, pull out pass side
2. remove bottom of seat by pulling up on front edge
3. take out coat hangers
4. remove seat belts, just pull off the piece covering bolts and remove both bolts, one on top and one on bottom by door
5. remove 3 plastic push pins on both sides of truck opening
6. remove both rear panels, start from the top and just pull carefully
7. remove plastic cups around child safety holds, if you have them
8. pull out back deck
its a real PITA just to get the deck out but thats how you gotta do it, stupid GM
hmm... i basically folded down the rear seat, took out the driver's side rear panel, let the passenger side hang 1/2 way removed, pulled a corner of the rear deck, it kinda bowed a bit and it came right out.....
same here.. that other info is way to long and way to much time lol mine took me like 3 mins todo

same here. and the first time i did it i wasn't even sure what i was doing. just push one side in while pulling the other side out. you'll pop the one side out from the side panels and it'll slide right out. shouldn't take you more then 5 mins.

meh, to each his own, i was painting my panels at the same time so it made sense to take it all out, i guess the only advantage to my way is that you dont risk breaking the deck
your not gonna break the deck doing it the way i did. you barely have to bend it. i did bust one of the plastic trim pieces taht goes around the hole for the seat belts though. but you don't see that with the seat up so it's no big deal.

i made the mistake of no removing the panels it didnt break but where the seatbelts come out cracked the little plastics squares. o well tho i dont have seat belts in the back anymore cause i grinded the bolts out of the bottom part of the back seat. and removed the seat belt holder in the back window
