alright... so i want to change the shifting nob... but i can't figure out how to get the factory one off... can someone help me??

Auto or manual. Easier to tell you how if we knew. Manual, pull like hell. Auto, there is a u shaped pen in the back. Use a screwdrive and pull it out them pull the knob straight up and it will come off easily after that.

What year as well?

And do a search, its been discussed alot the last 2 days are so.

'04 cavalier... manual transmission... can't stand automatics

i really don't wanna pull like hell... manual labor for my job + pull like hell to replace nob = NO FUN!

i have on 04 manual 2. its not hard 2 do just twist it off. it just requires some strength. its just like ur opening a soda bottle. mayb pulling on it will work as well but i just twisted mine off.
