I basically know nothing about wheels, and I'm planning on replacing my stock wheels. I saw some used Konig Monsoon 16x7 5x100 wheels for only $100, but they do not come with lug nuts. The tires on my stock wheels still have a decent amount of tread left.
1. Is it possible to change the tires that i have on to the new wheels? I don't know what kind of tires they are, all i know is that they fit the stock wheels. Is it worth it to, or should I just buy new tires?
2. Since the Konigs don't come with lug nuts, can I use the ones I already have, or do I need to buy new ones?
3. Would I be able to change the wheels by myself, or would i need to take it to a shop to do it?
4. How much would it cost if i took it to a shop to change the tires/replace the wheels?
Thanks for any help
do the wheels come with new tires if so u should not need to replace unless the u want or the tread is bad. you can use ur old lug nuts they might not look the best depending on what the wheel looks like. it is also possible for u to change the wheels yourself it is not a hard thing to change wheels
No, the wheels don't have tires. I would have to have a mechanic change the tires though, right?
1) yes
2) no you need new lugs. 12mm x 1.5mm lugs
3) you can change the wheels yourself but you need a tire shop to mount and balance the tires on the new wheels, then you can install
4) cost me 15 bucks per tire to get mounted and balanced
also you need hub centric rings to put on before you install the wheels. its basically a plastic circle that just pushs on the hub and sits inside the studs
thanks a lot for the help man, much appreciated.
