Problems with wheel spacers?
Thursday, November 17, 2005 8:14 PM
I was wondering if anyone else out there is using wheel spacers on their car. And if so has anyone had any problems with them. I have an 01 Cavi with the 17's from a scion tC. Love the look of them, but the hub center is too small, and I am using spacers front and rear, so I am wondering if there are any problems with using them, or should I just bore out the hole to mount them straight against the hub. With the spacers there is a slight vibrationat higher speeds, nothing too bad, but I was leaning towards boring the centers and losing the spacers.

I would be very concerned about using spacers that prevent the wheel from pulling up onto the hub. And boring out the wheel centers? I wouldn't trust that job to just anybody. The hole for the hub needs to be dead-on centered. I think Wild Weasel has a write-up about the hub issue on his site.
