I know they use the same 2.4 motors as the J-bodies, do they use the same Transmissions?

depends on the year and if you are talking standard or auto. I don't believe j-bodies ever used the 4t60e but I could be mistaken?
-95-98 used the 4t60e for auto
-95-98 used the isuzu for manual
99+ used the 4t40e for auto
99+ used the getrag for manual
Sorry I should of made that more clear.
I've got a 95-99 Z24 with a Isuzu manual, so I can use a manual tranny out of the Grand am?
