I have a small problem...I had to change a stud on my front passenger side spindle, and did so w/o any problems. But I later found out that when I had taken the brake caliper off, it tore the outer cv shaft boot. The tear isn't real big, just about 1 cm long, like you would poke ur fingernail through something. I drove on it not realizing what I had done and found grease all over my wheel and brake later that day. The axle is going on 5 yrs old and is put under a lot of stress w/ my heavy wheels and supercharger. I would hate to replace the boot and the whole shaft blowout soon after, but I don't want to replace the shaft until it starts to go out.
My question is...I think I can squirt grease back into the boot and seal the 1 cm slit with some silicone. Do you think it'll work?
