bell housing theory

if someone can follow me where i am going with this i will be ipressed but in a roundabout way with the ln2 bolt up to the bell housing of a small block chevy trans?

here is what im thinking

2.2 and 2.8 bolt to each other

2.8 and 2.5 iron duke bolt to each other

2.5 iron duke and 4.3 and all sbc bolt to each other

so if i find a clutch disk that would work it should bolt up correctly?

if this has ever been gone over im sorry for bringing it up again

the ln2 tranny doesnt need to hold the sbc the sbc needs to hold the ln2 in a new RWD project race car we are gonna try

i only figured the 2.5 ad 2.8/3.1 were the same because of the 92-94 s10 use the same trans no matter what motor

................ same trans as in a 4L60/TH700R4. yes,

But the part number for the trans are different.

Matter in fact, I know the 2.8 and 4.3 do NOT have the same pattern's.

You would need a trans from an s10 or sanoma with either the 2200 or the 2.8, im not sure about the 2.5. I believe the older s10s with the 2.8 used the 200-4r trans and the newer s-10s with the 2200s use the 4l60E/700r4 or there are always the manual options. I do know the 2200 and 4.3 bell housings have different bolt patterns.

we will be using a 4 or 5 speed manual probably out of a 2.8 camaro

its like the 2002 cavaliers came with a F23 Getrag but the trans is not interchangeable between the engien there 3 versions because the bellhousing is attached to the case
only way is if the bellhousing is removeable on the s10s i know some older stuff the bellhousing is a separate part of the trans
