just wondering what is the most power your th125 has held up to. and what you did to it to make that happen ?
i am looking in to building one now.i am looking at torque's(hard to find),rebuild kit(not sure witch is better).
shift kit(if any of them are worth it)
are the input shaft or chain a week link in the trans ?

Byron Clemens put quite a bit down with his. (Another one from Byron)

An older post by Funky Bottoms (Event)that has good info and another thread by me.

They are very stout transmissions, the strongest that came in a J-Body, just not geared worth a damn! 3.18 is the effective drive ratio in the Js, but you can gear them to 3.33, 3.43 or 3.73 with the right combination of differentials (final drives) and drive/driven chain gears. They work well with high torque motors. Stock torque converters were 2375 rpm stall in 3rd gens, but can be had up to 2795 rpm in stock and can be custom built to any rpm you want. The 4 speed (4T40E) uses the same TCs.

The only thing I have ever seen go on that trans was the pumps..... Fix that problem, Golden!

what about shift kits ? is trans go the only one avalible ? i am looking to fix the granny shifting that the auto trans is made to do in stock form. and a shift kit fixs that problem most of the time but i am told that the shift kit for the th125 does not do what most of them do.

thanks

The TransGo SK125 is a shift improver kit, not so much as a shift kit.

Superior Transmissions has the Superior K125 Shift Correction kit, which is their version of the TransGo kit. This is the kit I currently use.

Both kits will give a slightly firmer shift. If you combine that with B&M's Original TrickShift you will have a noticeably firmer shift. It is a Dexron compatible fluid, but works best used alone.

All this and more can be found in the other threads I listed above.
