OK So big problem... I had a hard time getting out of my driveway for work this morning (lots of ice), so i spun quite a bit... Well after I got out, on my way to work, I could not get my car into 4th gear. If i let the RPMs down, then pulled really hard, it would sometimes go in. On my way home, it started popping out of 3rd, almost home... lost all shifting capability... The linkage is fine, its all connected at the shifter, and its all moving how it should on top of the transmission. I'm guessing something broke inside? Is that a possiblity? Am I going to need a new transmission? Any help greatly appreciated... If anyone knows of anything, email is easier as I can't get online much... neonboy98rt@aol.com. Thanks...
If the shift cables are fine check under the snap down ring for the 5spd shifter. The pivot ball housing is plastic and sometimes it will crack and make getting in gear hard.
If that's all good, it may be your slave cyl.
But, check all possible things between the shifter and the trans first. Including the master cyl. If nothing than you're going to have to pull the trans to check the slave any way. Good luck. Let us know what's up.
Would that thing cracking cause the shifter to just move in a big circle and not be able to put it in any gear?
I checked everything again, and where the linkage goes into the transmission, is all loose, and basically hanging out of the tranny... I called my dealer and waiting for a call back... Hoping they'll cover it...
