Does anyone know the width dimensions for the Shifter Arm(the one under the cover and below where the shift cable attached to the tranny) that goes in the MK7 tranny ? Having trouble getting from 1st to 2nd under a load. Have to wait for engine torque to relieve before shifting. No problems down shifting or getting out of 2nd, just can't shift from 1st to 2nd trying to race.
Note * Tranny rebuilt 3,000 miles ago. New syncro's too. LSD and 3rd member ass'y from a '93 GEO Storm (machined gears).

Also, what HP & TQ will a 4T40e handle as a daily driver ? If I can't fix 1st problem, may go auto.

Im having the same problems with my tranny as well. I got one build and it sounds like we have the same problem. I cant figure it out and im about to take it to a diffrent shop then the one who build it and see if they can fu\igure it out. I was told that the syncros might be just a little off and thats why i have to wait a few seconds for every thing to line up before i can shift under a heavy load as well.

I rebuilt mine. It had the same problem before the rebuild. I tore it back down. No signs of syncro wear or debris. Alignments look good, but the shifter arm going into the tranny case is worn. I can build it back up if I can get the dimensions.
