I have been looking around many JY and have not been able to find a NVG out of an HO motor. So what I would like to know is if the difference betweent the HO and NON HO motor trannys. I have been talking to Brian, the one that makes the LSD's and he thinks that the regular 2.3 cam with the NVG trans. I just need help I am going to be puttin the motor back together this week and by friday its going in. I dont have a tranny and need one bad. Please help me. I just need to know what cars the NVG came in and what to look for. I know in HO and I know VIN a, anything else.

Will any 2.3 tranny work if it has two mounts? I am looking for a internal slave cyclinder right, but if I find a external, then I have to use the sam mastercyclinder but will work. If someone can just label all the different trannys I can use and the pros and cons. I need this tranny asap.

if you find one with the external slave..but has TWO mounts you can use it..but youll need a different clutch..you WILL NOT need to change the master, youll just need to use the slave line that goes with it
92 and up 2.3 cars... that's all you really need to know.

sorta...92 is the only year i know of with TWO mounts and external slave..if it has external then you have to use the that clutch,and clutch line(i have one if you need it) ...if it has an internal slave then the 2.4 clutch will work..obviously
No, clutch's are interchangeable. the external slave hydro line will mate to the internal slave (95-99) Master line.... not that I did that....

K guys I found one out of a 94 grand am quad 4 . Its an internal slave cyclinder and its got 7 bolts on the end of the houing. Any good? Let me know asap, I need to know if I should pick it up or not. Need to know real soon though.

IF its a vin A car then thats the tranny you want..and chris what are you smoking?? the external slave has a clutch line with a nipple on the end and a pin that holds it in, got one sitting here...the internal slave is a quick disconnect style

that is not an NVG ..no way that came out of a 94 HO car...theres a sticker on that tranny...is there an 8 digit number on it? what is it

how bad in need are you of the NVG specific tranny? Something wrong with fitting an 00+ F23 in there? They are a hell of a lot more common, and extremely close in strength too.
I did not want to have to cut the body. Plus I have a brand new fidanza and centerforce stage 2. Along with a brand new slave cyclinder. I really need an NVG. I dont have time to cut the body, I need this in the car by Friday.
I am having a company locate me one, hopefully I can get one soon.

you can get them shipped pretty easy..i had mine shipped from ohio..only took a couple days
92 - 94 grand am, beretta, achieva, calais, any HO equipped car...ALL HO quads came with the same tranny those years, and any will work for you
