Here is the deal I bought this '01 Z24 5 spd, and it sounded fine and drove good. I get it home and a few days later it started sounding rough from the tranny area so I saw on here that a bunch of guys recommend the B&M Trick shift. Well I get underneath today and drain it over on the driver side and maybe an 1/8 cup of fluid came out and it did not look like or smell like ATF. So I flush 1 qt through the tranny (on top of tranny allan bolt just under the radiator hoses) it flushed through the drain and I noticed some metal shaving which did not suprise me considering the lack of fluid in there. So I screw the drain plug back in and go ahead and pour in the 2 qts of ATF.....I bend down to pick up my tools and notice all of this ATF dumping out of my bell housing cover and I am like WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so my question is what is broke inside to allow this to happen and is this repairable or do i need to start looking for a new tranny??????????????
Thanks
well i made a mistake it was not coming out of my bell housing. i crawled underneath and found the problem my diff case is busted on the passenger side great i know that definately means a tranny swap.

Yeah going to need a tranny. I would guess something broke inside and then broke the housing.
