I have an 01 cavalier(automatic) and when it goes into gear around 35 every once in a while you can see the tach rev up a few hundred rpm, you can hear it on the exhaust too. Is my transmission going? I never noticed it before the exhaust so it might have done it for a while. Will a B&M shift plus help?
If you really do have a problem, adding a shiftplus or any other tranny "performance" modification will only make the problem worse, or shorten the time you have to fix it. My suggestion would be to bring it to a dealer and take a tech for a ride.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
I thought about it, but it doesn't do it every time. I could be driving around all day and it wont to it. Some days it is bad then just goes away. I will wait on the shift plus till I get it fixed first. The fluid has been changed 2 times and it only has 33000 on it. Back when my dad bought it a few years ago thats the first thing he did and when he looked at the paper work he got with it it said it was changed at 20000.
your bands are probably slipping. trannny fluid was probably never chaged and the tranny was abused. shiftplus isnt gonna help. its only performance on shifts. aparently makes your tranny last longer from the reduce slip durring shifts.
Working on obtainting an M-Class license... ?? Hint: 2 wheels.
Tranny fluid has been changed two times in 35000 thousand. If it was abuse, I know the day it happened.
20,000 miles is a bit early to worry about changing fluid. and twice within 35000?? so, when your dad changed the fluid, did he check the level the correct way, or just put in a certain # of quarts?
if he didnt do it right,"the day it happened" is the day he changed the fluid.
Well it was a few years back and he took it somewhere and they called the gm dealer to figure it out.
What I think might have happened if it could hurt it is that I was with him and I was messing around put it in 1 and when I went to second I went to 3 instead of 2. wheel hopped like a bitch and the dash shook. If that could hurt it, it is more than likely that I broke it.
I dont mess with that anymore. I live it in drive. Wasn't sure if it was faster at all to manually shift it or not. To scared to do it now though.
