I put an aftermarket TCC solenoid in my 98 3spd coupe a few months back to solve a P1870 code for trans slipping and it still threw the code and a buddy with a trans shop looked at it and we found out the the 3rd gear pressure switch which lets power pass to the TCC solenoid only in 3rd was bad too so it was also replaced and light went out and I thought it was all fixed. I was driving it for about 4 months and 5,000 miles and P1870 code came up again and a check of the wiring indicates the switch crapped out again or wiring is screwed up. This is a cheap part for like $7 but the job is a pain in the A$$ to do for the 3rd time and I just ordered a new switch and a TCC solenoid from the local Chevy dealer and their TCC solenoid comes WITH the whole trans wiring harness where the aftermarket came with stupid posi-lock connectors. Anyone else have this much trouble with these?? I KNOW trans does not slip at all and has been flushed and filter changed as I did it myself at the shop.
