ok whats the difference between a 198221 and a 198241. They are both light weight flywheels for the LD9. I have a 2000. the first one is for a 95-99 and the second is 00-02. did they change the flywheel in that stretch of time?
Different Transmission

Sorry I should be more specific, up until 2000 LD9s used the Isuzu trans and 2000-2002 used the Getrag, thus the two part numbers.

so it's the clutch that had changed so there fore won't match up?
I think you'd be fine on the engine side but the clutch and maybe throw out bearings and such don't line up. Is one cheaper or something? if not just get the one made for your year

Ya its the clutch thats changed, the 2.4 and eco have the same bellhousing, but i just looked up the part numbers for spec stage 1 as a reference and they show SPECSC861 and SPECSC581so there's your difference, the two trans' will bolt up to the motor the same its the junk in between thats the problem. Go with the 2000-2002

the 2.4 (LD9) and Eco do not have the same bell housing.
from what I have been told as long as you use the same clutch and flywheel combo it will work with either trans. ie. Isuzu flywheel, clutch disk, and pressure plate will work with Getrag slave and trans, and vice versa.
95-99 LD9's with the Isuzu had a stepped flywheel, 2000-2002 LD9's with the getrag had a flat flywheel. Thats the difference.

I used a 2.3 clutch and flywheel on with my Isuzu tranny without issues.

Thats because the 2.3's also had a stepped clutch.

No they didn't. Only the 95 2.3 had a stepped flywheel. 88-94 2.3's and 00-02 2.4's had a flat flywheel

I actualy have a flywheel for a W41 in my 02 Z. Same as my stock one was, it was just in better shape than my stocker.
