looking to convert my 2001 Z24 to the '95-'99 shift style so that the short shifter that is for a 95-99 Cavalier will work....please post or email me if someone can help me out
the GM dealer price is 250$ a linkage so just over $500 after everything, and the 95-99 was sort of giving to me, and now we've torn apart the 2001 base to try and get the 99 to work

Dude you got screwed..... I only paid $150 for the set brand new from the GM dealership..... both getrag and Izuzu cables are the same price.
btw... Izuzu cables (like your talking about converting to) won't work with the getrag tranny..... wich is why if you swap from an izuzu to a getrag... you have to replace ot cables and shifter.....
just get the short shifter for the tranny you have (getrag).
here is canada they are 250$ at the dealer!!!!
^^ really..... you might want to double check.... and make sure that $250 is actually the price for the set.... when I ordered mine.... GM said $150 a linkage also... but when I asked them.... they considered "a linkage" to be both cables because they are actually connected to each other where the grommet is and you can't order them separately.
