I know of the TransGo and Superior shift kits... but are these the ones that fit my car? its a 1998 Chevy Cavalier w\ the 3 speed 3T40. Here is the website address of the TransGo and Superior shift kits. I believe these are the shift kits everyone puts in from TransGo..

Also, Im not rebuilding the transmission, just replacing it. So, before I put the new transmission in, i can do the shift kit correct? Just making sure because the shift kit for the Superior says "MUST BE DONE AT REBUILD" while TransGo does not. I figured that was talking about so you can take the valve body off and successfully put it together right without check balls falling everywhere.

yes u can do it before the install. they'll simply rebuild the spare before install. same route i took.....

We are getting a used tranny for 325 from a reputable distrubitor. It comes w\ a warranty. I also get discounts because of where I work. So the question is, after i recieve this tranny, its going in without a rebuild. Thats why i was curious about the shift kits.

Ok, well this isnt the shift kit i wanted. I want a performance oriented shift kit. Where can I get one? TransGo doesnt list one from there... they only list a shift improver (doesnt increase performance).

they don't make a shift kit for the 3t40 the closest thing is ones you listed..
Well iv got a trans comming with 40K miles on it. Is it even worth the cost and to put this kit in? Granted, the trans is not in the car... which makes it so much easier.
