I have a 1997 Z24. Just did a Getrag swap and installed a Spec stage 2 and a Getrag Master Cylinder.
Now i have bled this thing several times and it doesnt seem to get any better. The pedal has no resistance @ all, seems to actuate the clutch ok put the pedal feel is awful. Actuation is near the top of the pedals travel, the pedal does not stay on the floor, just feels like its pushing on nothing....
Is this how the Getrag master and a spec clutch w/ slave is supposed to feel ?? or do i need to bleed further ?
thanks

sounds like air! i say keep bleeding
keep bleeding it releasing the air from the slave cylinder input AND the clutch fluid reservoir cap. i just put a clutch on my 04 getrag and i thought the same thing. but i just kept bleeding it and its fine now. not sloppy at all. did you happen to replace your slave cylinder when you put the new trans in?
Sounds great to me. I love a easy pedal. Have you driven it? Does it drive fine?

Thats how my getrag with Spec stage III feels....I thought something was wrong too.
true john. but he says it feels awful and isnt engaging until almost the top of the pedals travel. which means theres still a lot of air in there.

The engagement point should be at the top of the pedal. My stage II is at the top, and it should be.

My stage three is right at the top, too. It took a day or two to get used to it.
But recheck the reservoir fluid and make sure the hose on the bottom is on all the way. Wouldn't hurt to rebleed it, but it sounds normal. Hard to tell without me driving it.
hmm. i wonder why his is feeling sloppy then?

We need a better explanation of sloppy, I think the clutch is fine.

You gravity bled, and force bled the thing?
There are no leaks anywhere?
Also the clutch pedal has a littel bit of slop at the very very end of up and down where nothing is happening, the clutch doesnt fully engage until you almost have the pedal released. That part sounds normal.
If you have a clutch where it is fully engaged halfway through, your linkage is not correct.
Anyways no resistance at all is not normal. But it is ahrd to diagonse this over the internet, could be air in the lines, could be a slave cylinder, could be a lot of things
