k so iam opening my isuzu 5 speed trans from my 97 z24
so i removed all the bolts holding the two housings togather
and it still will not come apart is there some trick to getting apart?
Thanks,
Paul
if its anything like the getrag theres a round "cup seal" on the inside of the bellhousing beside the shaft..about the size of a baseball around...you gotta get that cup seal off( pry it usually) and there are 2 10mm bolts in there ...get those off and the case will come apart.....but thats for the getrags..id check the bellhousing and see whats there
nope theres not a lil cup seal next to the shaft any other ideas or tricks???
i think tomaro i might just be bringing it in to the dealer to have them take it apart and put it back togather for me.
Thanks,
Paul
On the opposite end of the transmission from the bell housing, the metal cover needs to be unbolted, and you will have to take the large nut and 2 gears off, they are holding the two halves together. And make sure the bellhousing end is face down when you do everything.
