Wife's '03 Sunfire
I've been tinkering with this thing all day and can't figure out how to get the old one out for the life of me. Everything's unbolted. Both engine mounts are unbolted. No matter what I do, I can't get enough clearance to slide the old mount off the shaft.
What am I missing here?
I'm going to have to go ahead and put it back together and try again next weekend when she's out of state. Help me! Please?
Her upper motor mount shredded itself on the inside and it took out the lower mount and the tranny mount. I was able to check the tranny mount and the rubber in it is all cracked up and soft as it can be.
Wierd though because the car only has 50k on it.

Not trying to be a smart-@ss, but have you tried looking in 1 of the manuals at the auto parts store?
I've never done it, so I'm no help.
But I would think you'd almost have to get to the point where you would remove the transmission, because of the way that mount sits in there. Isn't there a U-shaped piece that has to come off too?
