at the tire shop where i work we have a performance shop and in there is an arospeed short throw shifter designed for the 2000-present cavalier/sunfire the ones that have that saftey thinger on the shifter ...the thing you gotta pull up on in order to shift into reverse well i was wondering if that would fit the cars before that that didn't have that feature . if i just removed that saftey gadget from the short shifter would the shifter work in my car cause it looks very simmilar thank you for any info

No, it won't fit. B&M makes a short shifter for the 95-99 j-bodies. The whole shifter assembly is different, not just the reverse lockout feature.
