I have the 4 spd auto in my car and when I was driving this morning I had my lil cousin in the car with me. well to get to the point I was going around 60 MPH and he threw it into park on me. I wasnt taking notice to that cause of the idiot infront of me driving like a moron. well I hurried up and got it off the road and stopped. did a look over on the side of the road and there is no fluid leak or damage. trans has all gears and seems to work fine. did I get lucky or should I wait and see what happens down the road and or should I start saving now for a 5 spd swap?

i just learned in tranny class that electronic automatics, guessing you have an 01, have a safety feature in them that will not allow you to select park, reverse or manual low (1 or 2) when the speed sensor hits around 15km/hr or something. Even tho the gear is selected in park, the computer will just not allow that because an obvious disaster would occur. So i think your alrite.
If you had a hydraulic tranny without it being electronic, then you would of probably had a sun gear up your ass. lol.

so did it just basically throw it into neutral?

well it definitely didnt throw the car in park or else you would of definitely heard something terribly go wrong. I dont totally know how it works, but if the engine revs dropped to idle, then the car was most likely put in neutral. If the engine revs stayed the same as when they were in 4th at 60mph, then the computer just kept it in gear for you.
I think the computer probably put the car in neutral b/c the lever did move out of gear and becuase neutral wont cause any harm. Sounds like you dont have nothing to worry about. Your car is running like normal. Thank your computer for that.
If something did go wrong when the car was trown in park, you would of definitely felt or heard it go wrong, trust me on that.
