Tranny Problem, Reverse, Exagerate to Drive?
Sunday, August 28, 2005 11:31 AM
Ok i wasnt sure to post this in maintenance or transmission but it can be moved to whereever suits it best.. Anyway when i go in reverse then shift into drive it takes a couple seconds for it to get into Drive.. If u were to shift in reverse, back up, then shift into drive then get on the gas it would just rev then when it kicked in would take off.. Now i know this is common but i have no clue on what i should do to fix it.. dont get me wrong im not going to be attempting any 2F2F highway 180s but i would like to be able to shift into drive and it be in drive..(yes i kno in 2F2F it was a manual..no need to bring that up ) What do i need to do to get this fixed cuz its annoying..

Also i tried searching but couldnt really think of what to search under..

Alright well not to bring this back from the dead but i like to answer my posts for future people who might need it..

Anyway i did noticed my transmission pan had a dent so a previous owner musta bottomed it out somewhere.. I took off the pan to hammer out the dent. So i decided to change the fluid and filter and good thing.. i tihnk my car was overdue.. the fluid was like a brownish.. So i replaced teh filter and new fluid, and put the tranny pan on with a new gasket and voila! no more exageration into drive or any gear for that matter.. Shifts nice now.
