hard to say but a tranny shop I stopped at today said for them to go through my transmission and look things over it would be an all day thing.
If the synchros are gone does that mean that the car wont move when in gear?
I think im having the same problems you are and ill find out how much it will cost me. and then ill let you know.
its all about power to weight

I think that may be the differential...........synchros just grind into gears when you shift unless the synchros are done completely then maybe thats possible.

i took my car in after a month when i bought it the clutch blew. so i bought a clutch kit and paid lazy @!#$s $600 to put it in. when i got my car back i noticed i cant shift into 2nd so i yelled at them and went through alot of @!#$ to get nothing back. then a week later my brand new clutch slipped so i paid and installed everyting myself
just to tell you my 2nd and 5th gear syncros were gone. so i bought a clutch, pressureplate, flywheel, and gearbox with 40k on it for $400.
its alot better now. i recommend you find a newer one.
