I am wondering how much hp/tq can a stock Clutch take? I am putting on the GM supercharger right now along with a 4-2-1 header and a custom 2.5" cat back exhaust. Another guy who lives fairly close to me in Edmonton with the exact same set up as me, except he has a 6psi pulley, dynoed at 201hp and 187lbs of torque(at the wheels). Stock the supercharger runs about 4.5psi so i would be making around 187hp and say 170lbs of torque with my set up... do you think my stock clutch can hold the 4.5psi? and just a note about the car, it has 31,354kms (about 19,483miles)
reason i am asking is because when i had my dads car in the World Of Wheels car show here in Calgary, i talked to a guy who had a cavalier in the show and he said if i used the stock clutch with even 4.5psi i will blow it right away like the first week of driving it.
I dont think it would blow in the first week of driving it unless you were dumping the clutch all the time. I do however believe you better put a better clutch in there...or at least have the pressure plate modified to have a higher clamping force.

well the thing is i have $0 money now... i just put $4000 into my engine and i got no more for the clutch
so i cant even get the pressure plate modified
Wait till your next paycheck

You should be alright. Brain (SpeedracerZ) has already run high 12's on the stock clutch. As long as it's in good shape, it should hold just fine.
