questions to set my kit (injectors, etc)
Wednesday, January 18, 2006 7:39 PM
ok there is my project :

T3 super 60
cartech FMU
aeromotive FPR

I have an Ecotec and I want to run ~ 250 hp

1- which injectors to buy ? (I don't know anything about injectors... are they universal or there are some specefic for ecotec?)
2- ratio to set my FMU? (with stock injectors (~7 psi ~ 200 hp I think) (will change later) + with bigger injectors? (psi to get 250 hp)
3- Do I need something else for my fuel modifications???? (many people said that the pump is good enough..)

um im not really good at fuel stuff myslef but i know that the saab injectors should be around good for like 10 psi they are direct fit the 02 feul rail even though there is someone running them in his 03 without problems and if u up the psi you can also get some ford green tops that are 440cc's i think? but if u search or go a few pages back i kow for sure that there are alot of posts on this. not trying to be mean or anything just giving u another option. i wish i could start ordering my turbo stuff already but right now im short on money so i guess in a lil while, oh and ur fuel pump should be fine in know QBE is using his stock one, but its always best to get one that can keep up with ur other fuel mods. well i hope everything goes well for u dude, good luck and happy boosting!!

ford racing 42lb racing injectors and clips. You can prolly get them for around 200 or less. Or accell makes fuel injectors. i believe with some mods the srt-4 injectors will work. I have 42 lb racing injectors and a base pressure of 25psi idles fine no codes thrown the cartech is set all the way counter clock wise on the needle adjustment and the onset fuel pressure is set at 35psi and on 7.8psi i run an 11.7:1 air fuel ratio. 206hp 229ftlb torque on a micro turbo so you should make more. prolly like 220 240tq. Just a guess. I havent had to much time to tune and im in between the innovate wideband which i just shipped out and the aem wideband which is so much easier to install and calibrate (automatic calibration)

you don't need 42 lb injectors for 250 hp. that's overkill. you'll be able to get away just fine with 36lb injectors

I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.

lol... thats how you blow up engines... by running your injectors to thier limits. a 42lb injector would be a great choice. If one starts to go out, or gets clogged, you wont be up the creek w/o a paddle.

36lb injector is safe for bolt-on NA motors.. for anything boosted... 42lb or better

True 36lb injectors will work but buying large injectors will help lower the duty cycle of the injector altough when playing with fuel pressure tuning duty cycle starts out high and gets lower as fpr increases. Either or 36lb will work and so will 42lb injectors.
