i am rebuilding my 96 2.2 at 8.5/1 comp ratio what kind of turbo system should i run

well at that compression you can run alot of boost so you will want a bigger turbo or one that can support more boost

Honestly, keep it at 9:1 compression (your stock compression). There is no reason to really go that low. That .5 would make a difference in initial power and I'm sure you have a good amount of space between the top of your piston and the head for compressed air.

well i am rebuilding with forged parts for alot of boost. how much would be possible with this set up? what top end work should i do if any? what type of hp should i shoot for with this set up? thanks for the input

On 9:1 compression built properly, I can picture 15+ PSI.

just go with 9:1 comp. it's plenty fine for what your going to do. You'll notice somewhat of a difference in down low rpm (off boost) power with the higher comp pistons. not saying that lower the compression is bad, but in your case i dont believe it is necessary.

true. Hell you can run 15 psi at 10:1 compression with the right tuning (ESPECIALLY IGNITION) and the proper fuel. Remember, you want a compression ratio high enough that you can still get some performance out of the motor when it is not in boost.

Good points. Ill be using 9:1. That way I can drive it under boost somewhere if I have problems lol.
