GM supercharger enigma

well, last week i was driving home, ( i now have the 2.5" pulley on) and for one reasion or another it went up to 10lbs @ about 3-4K.... i was like WTF!, it usely only hits 8-9lbs at 6500. then the pulley sheared off the hub and the belt riped its self apart.

i fixed the problem, taped new bolt holes in the hub and grinded more materal off the snout. ( it was rubing.) my queston is, why did it boost what it should be with the pulley. my only guess is that when the pulley was "falling off" it was "twisting" the belt so it wouldent slip.

what belts are people with the 2.5" pulley running.?
