Glowing manifold

I just recently put a turbo on my 99 2200 and it was running good for like 3 days other that oil leaks but today i noticed that the manifold is glowing red after i drive it for a little bit under no boost. I have an 8:1 fmu and thats it for right now. What can be the problem?

i drove about 10 min going to my friends house and when i got there and popped the hood, the manifold was glowing. Can it be running really lean?

Too rich or too lean.

that's what it sounds like just from the one indicator...

Have you seen the turbo wagon?

14.069 @ 98.91mph
229.1hp & 261.7ft/lbs @ 6psi
no tuning time

My only guess is that it can only possibly be running lean cause all i have right now is a fmu and i dont think there is anyway it can run too rich

The funniest thing happened on the way home....well funny in a good way. When i got home after a 20 min ride with 5psi at times, i opened the hood and absolutly no glowing manifold and no extreme heat. Could I just have gotton a bad fuel trim or what?
