Well according to the chevy dealer they THINK my bottom end is at fault... they are doing some more work on it and will get back to me tuesday. To prepare I need to know where I can pick up a new block just incase.... stock or built. Any websites would be great... only one I knew of was mantapart and I really would like to stay away from them.
there is some car-part.com i think. not sure. there is some website that u type in what u want and it gives u a list of junkyards and prices on parts.
good luck
i payed 850$ for my 2k motor with 12k miles. it was 750$ but i had a 1year warrenty for 100$ i got too. . so figure anywhere between 500$-1000$ for a complete used motor.
Well the head SHOULD be fine (unless another f'in lifter shattered). So if anything (and hopefully this wont be the case)... Ill get a new block. I saw mantapart had a built one for 1500 so I was seein if there was anything else out there.
I forgot all about car-part.com too... thanks!
Are you looking for a new, or used block? I have a 96-97 block, with piston's, crank, oil pan on it. Also have a 97 full motor with a spun rod bearing with 78k on it. The motor is still intact, has never been opened, other than a water pump swap.
