Smaller GM S/C pulley help.

Ok, lets make a chart to clear this up.

2.8 is stock size for 4.5-5psi, correct?
2.7 yields what psi?
2.6?
2.5?

And the best questions, who/what company sells them. Links, info would be awsome!

the pulley and hub for the 99 GTP work for our M-45's but youll have a extra belt rib showing. ( i really dont care)

ive got the 2.7 and i see 5psi at 2800 and 6 at 3K. it will climb to 7-8 lbs by 6500.

thay also have a 2.4" after i get my alky injection im geting the 2.5 pulley.

Hey chris,
Do u have pics of the gtp pulley with the extra rib? It just sticks out more and thats it? It just fits on like stock? No extra parts to buy ?

thanks bud!

the extra rib is to the inside, to an untrained eye it looks stock.

I get barely 5 psi on the stock pulley. Generally just over 4.

the pulley boys has a set up with 5ribs just for the 2.4 s/c

since my s/c is 1 of the proto types i average 5-7 psi and have seen as high as 8-10 psi right before redline , on a cool air night , which is starting to be more frequant here now

if your using the stock pulley, i really dont see why it could be that high. Just because your supercharger is a prototype, doesnt make it any different than the rest of them. Its still made by EATON and its still an M45. GM didnt do anything to the actual supercharger.

my pulley looks smaller than the 1 you guys have

when i measured it (with a cheap tape measure) it was a little over 2 1/2"

also mine seams to be a little on the leaner side than the rest of you guys also , and im using the production s/c injectors

also, boost is a mesher of resistance not flow. CFM is the important factor for HP here. not "boost" if i could have 450 CFM @ 4psi it is alot better than 450CFM @ 12PSI. less heat....

his charger ( from the looks of it) may flow better than ours, and the pulley is ( agane from the looks of it ) is smaller.

ive had the 2.8\2.7\2.5" pulleys.
psi at redline.
stock. 5psi

2.7, 7-8

2.5 8-9

worth the money.... yes it acheves 5psi below 3K now... and it feels alot "tourquier."

dayum.. and to think on these 45 degree nights lately my stock pulley has been holding 6psi at redline..

Taetsch Z24-- hows the accelration difference with almost doubling the boost? im looking to do it soon and am dying to know if its a huge gain or not..

this is what i get with and with out alcohol injection

With out:
Stock 2.8" ..5psi
2.7".............6.5-7psi
2.6"............ got to hot and didn't see any more then the 2.7"
2.5".............. didn't bother trying it

With alcohol injection:
Stock..... didn't use
2.7"........8-9psi
2.6"........ 10-11psi but i blew my clutch out and only had it on for 2 days...
2.5"........ i will be trying once my new transmission is put back in tomorrow and broken in

also i have to figure out why i am only seeing like 8psi until around 5700-5800 RPM with the 2.6" pulley then it spikes up to 12psi and pulls like to F-ing tomorrow but only for a very short time... i didn't have much time to see as my clutch was slipping before the alcohol and once i put the kit in and started hitting the 9psi range it just got worse and only got to use the alcohol kit for about 3 days before my clutch went on me..

**note these are either what i can see from my quick glances at my boost gauge, or when my girl friend or who ever is in the passenger seat sees it at and since the gauge is fairly far from them it could be off by like 1-2psi**
