hey im ordering my supercharger augu 10th and im wondering what exactly does the gm reflash do, does it reset the air fuel so its correct for the charger or what? and also when i put on my supercharger kit will i be able to start the car up before doing the reflash just to see how it sounds and make sure its running or do i have to get the reflash done before i can start the car up after installing the kit. thanks
I installed everything, even the 2bar map sencer, and it ran fine. The re-flash make the computer "see" boost through the 2bar map, it also lets the computer adjust fuel and timing curves.
The KIT is a kit in all senses of the word.

I think thats what gets changed, and i'm pretty sure ignition timing too. I don't see a problem starting it w/o the reflash as long as you don't beat the crap outta it. Head straight to the dealer

the reflash allows the computer to work with boost from the 2 bar map sensor , and it changes the fuel and spark timing maps
so its ok to drive it w/o doing the reflash i see, as long as its not alot. w/o the reflash right away i should be running rich correct?

i am considering buying the charger, i am just trying to see how much everything is gonna cost me.
if you buy the kit new , then the reflash wont cost you anything cause you paid for it when you bought the kit
sweat... that makes me happy becouse my friend has a grand am and he had to have it reflashed and it was somewhare around 300 bucks.(not becouse of a charger but of other things got messed up)
But he forgot to say, they (may) charge you for 1hr labor

they arent susposed to chage you , the labor opp is either in the instructions or they are susposed to get it when they call for the VCI#
if they charge you call GM customer service , and complain about it
that is only on the new kits , like i said earlier
and this is only the 2.4's
yes..... if they charge you for it, they are robbing you...... because they will also charge GM for it. (anything to make a buck)

My dealer charged me for it. Might be because I'm in Canada. I'm not sure.
They looked into it and didn't charge me at first. Then they send me a bill when they couldn't get reimbursed from GM.
They said that the cost is absorbed in the price of the kit but since I didn't but it from them and didn't have them install it, they couldn't waive the charge.
Cost me 1 hour. And I don't think they ripped me off. I honestly think they did their best to get reimbursed for it from GM.
Ya I did call the 1-800s supplied in the kit and everytime they specifically said the dealer will charge you 1hr labor at their rate, In my case $65, instead of the usually $95 rate.
If you got it for free, consider your self lucky.

Yeah like they said above, only listed for 2.4 motor. Different motor so it's a different computer. If you really need to change your fuel or ignition on your 2200, check out Apexi SAFC-2 (fuel), Greddy E-manage (fuel & ignition timing).
