I really had no serious intention of getting it, put in some low bid and I actually won the thing. I dont know what to do.
I have been toying with the idea of a low boost kit. This manifold and turbo would be perfect for this. A FMU, some oil lines and I am set.
Question is this. Where in the heck do I get a downpipe flange? I am going to make a custom piece with a larger catalytic convertor.......I need a flange.
Anyone else looking at this route? Anyone have experience?

finding a premade downpipe is a hard task, mostly because they are very difficult to make when turbos are all over the place with differnt manifolds. there are basicly 2 ways ethier get a full kit (pointless if you already 200 hundered or so in) or get a custom.
or you could just run without exhaust which is really the best exhasut on a turbo system.

I hope you can weld because your in for some serious pipe work . And definitally do the exhaust all the way back with at least 2.5 with a high flow cat or a really high flow one (no cat haha) Good luck.
the 1 that you outbid dave on last week ??
lol
prefabbing a downpipe is next to impossible. but you knew that already. which flange is it? just a standard T3 flange? you should be able to get that from Brian at exploited racing or off ebay.

yea....good luck.....the cooling hoses are right there and other things just bam....alot of work....believe me....i removed my hvac and am having some routing issues still.
i can tell you its gonna be liek a straight 90 down then under the turbo....when you look yuou will see what im talking about

Looks fairly simple.
Oil return at the bottom.
Internal wastegate.
The downpipe wont be hard to make as long as I can get the flange.
The intake side for the turbo looks to be easy. The compressor outlet looks to be a bit of a pita. A 180 degree u bend with couplers to a pipe over the valve cover.

And hell like I said, I really didnt mean to win it. Anyone want to buy it at the price I won it for?

thats not the 1 dave bid on , that has to be off a older saab , its not from a saab eco motor
You should keep the manifold and turbo, and put it on your car
That probably won't bolt up. Before you go and make plans, make sure that will even fit on your engine.

the former." - Albert Einstein
The auction listed it as a 9-3 2000-2003 model. I looked at the engines in those years and they are Eco's.
