Well i put it on yesterday and it hit 5.5psi once then only 5psi all night, tightened it way down today and it keeps creeping just past 5psi... i figure ill keep tightening it down every day and hopefully hit 6psi...
My main thing is i was curious if this is usually how it goes when people put the gatorback belt on the RSM ecotec supercharger kits?

are you using 4060330?
If so i didnt notice any difference at first you have to give it a good 1000-2000 miles to loosen up, once it is get someone really big to press down on the tensioner then tighten it up fast, after that you should get to 6 before red

that sounds like a lot of f'n around.
I never heard of breaking in a belt to get more boost. When i change out the belt on my charger,i get the same psi as before. And you dont wanna tighten down the tensioner pulley too tight. If you put the belt too tight, your gonna fug up the bearings in the s/c.When i put the belt on too tight, you can see the s/c and the bracket flex.

Does the gatorback make a whining sound like some people say?
The s/c itself makes a whining sound... anywho, i got the tentioner way down (possibly all the way) and im still only hitting like 5.5 psi in 3rd gear, and barely 5 in 1st, just a lil past in 2nd.
I give up on more boost without a bigger pulley lol.
Im still happy though. With my old belt i was only getting 4psi it got so bad.

..wouldn't you want a smaller pulley for more boost
yup those boost figures are identical to what im experiencing, dude we need to get together sometime I want to see your car, im not too far in PA
the drive housing being larger turns the smaller supercharger pulley faster, thats just pulley dynamics
