well in couple days if things go well i will be picking up a gm supercharger for my 03 fire...
yes its for a eco
yes its off a cobalt
no you cant get one
and no im not possitive it will fit.....
but asside from that.. im having issues tracking down just exactly what im going to need fuel wise...
guys with the 2.4 blowers what all did you have to change (i know its not gonna be the same) but it may help with a base line....
talking with guys that own the ss coblat.. the boost gauge in there car avg. around 7 psi. and CAN peak at 10 if pushed hard....
so any suggestions on where i shoould start fuel wise would be appreciated...
i dont mind spending the money to do it right.... but i also dont want to wastte money on stff im not going to need... im a strong beliver in the KISS method (Keep It Simple Stupid)... less stuff i have to put it, less stuff to go wrong....

^^ YOU ARE WRONG.. he is talking about a eco not a 2.4.
you will need injectors and they dont make a reflash for it. you will prolly also need some kind of fmu or some other kind of fuel management system(megasquirt, emanage or something) make sure you get the intake that has the intercooler in it as well, it IS NOT A PART OF THE CHARGER.. it is like 600 dollars for that piece alone. you may or may not need to make a spacer to rotate the throttle body because it is a tight fit between the power steering pump due to the wires going into the TB. you will prolly need a belt tensioner too from the cobalt as well as the belt. the stock throttle body SHOULD be ok though. the eco TB flows pretty good as it is. I dont think there is anything else. someone correct me if im wrong.
and yes I CAN get one!
anytime I want to.. ( i already looked into this months ago. descided i could prolly do a turbo setup cheaper. but i change my mind alot.)
i know, thats why i said the KIT comes with that stuf......... like he asked... just thought id help.
but fu-k me for answering a question, right?

sorry i didnt see that part of the statement. Relax man, chill out... I didnt mean to offend you or anything.
use the injectors that come with the ss , qbe has them , or the turbo version of them
yes the s/c will fit
if you keep the liquid to air intercooler stuff youll have to custom make alot of piping and brackets for it , and make sure you get all the stuff for the pullies and belt
i think something needed to be done with the tb , but im not sure , our 2.2 eco has cable , and the ss/redline are drive buy wire
another is to use 320 cc injectors and use a fmu like hahn uses , and set the idle pressure down , and let the boost push the pressure up as needed
i never heard anything about the piping for the intercooler. im interested to know.
when reading about the install i thought that they said it was just located inside of the intake mani itself.
well i went to look at all the stuff tonight, there is ALOT more there than i thought...
all this stuff came off an ss.. didnt ask how hell i dont wanna know, im just assuming it came off a wrecked one.. hell its possible
all the plumbing for the cooling, the pump for that, brackets, pullys and alternator relocation parts are all there, as well as the fuel rail with the injectors of the ss,the 02 sensor plus the factory fpr...
so with that in mind im thinking a simple fmu may be enough
they even have the tb, which i figured it will be easyer not to use...
any insight?

Hey man I traded my Fire for an Cobalt SS....Well, it seems it will be a tricky project BUT I am sure it can be done....Now i'm not sure how you are gonna use the bypass feature on the s/c...I'm not sure if it is ran by the computer or if it is just vacuum that drives it, because it opens up alot from what I see on the boost guage...Now the S/C does get up to about 12psi's when you are really on it...
Umm...if it is out of a wrecked one, I would grab the injectors and then use an aftermarket fmu...but there is alot more to the s/c system as you had stated before...If you need pics of the system on my SS i'll gladly take some if it could help you....
using the stock injectors prob wont be as simple as you make think..you might need to buy some aftermarket ones..maybe some fords...if the stock injectors are anything like the gmsc injectors or HO injectors..they will clip with the FMU and you'll run lean...i could be wrong But its something you can keep in mind when it comes time to tune it.
lets put it this way... evrything thats not on a normal eco... there is..
as in the pump for the coolant, all the coolant hoses, the ss fuel rail w/ injectors, factory fpr, pulleys, alternator bracket, belt tensioner, coil packs, boost guage, all the vacum line, sensors EVERYTHING...
im thinking if i start with a fmu and a air fuel ratio guage to start and go from there... no point in adding 300 things at a time, cause if i do that and somethings not working its gonna be harder to diagnose..

Somewhere in the good ol' U.S. of A. is a Cobalt SS sitting at a Insurance parking impound without its stolen Supercharger a very nasty settlement claim.

^^^agree..get a wideband much better..the air/fuel bounce around. or EGT i got both i like haveing the extra stuff when it comes to monitering for safety.
correct me if im wrong but couldnt he just use injectors and the SAFC-2. will he really be running 12psi like the cobalt can it take it..i kno eco likes boost but idn how much more stress it is then a turbo or how much less...
speed kills, drive slow, drive a honda
