Does anyone have a ecotec using a Apexi SAFC on there ecotec and has no problems with these and find these to wrok right or well on our engines?? I want to get one with my fuel setup (30lb red tops, cartec FMU, intank pump, Adj FPR) and heard eco's having problem wireing up the tach etc;???
People who own this engine and unit please respond only...im trying to get my fuel managment setup correctly and what i listed above is not cutting it =(...my computer seems to go back to 14.7 ratio when its not supposed to so i was thinking about changing the fuel curve when i need it with this unit.
Any problems ill run into or should i not bother getting this??? Will i also need my FMU anymore after i get this or do they work hand in hand? Im confused..i heard alot of people say you dont and some same keep it.../shrug
If i buy one off ebay or where-ever i decide..will this all i need or any special harness's or anything else????

Oh yeah! This is running 5 PSI non intercooled at the moment..and when i figure all this fuel managment out and get it where i like it..and intercooled ill bump up to 7 PSI..thats as far as i plan on going....
This is dissapointing news for me. I have the exact same setup as you but not installed yet. Red tops, cartech fmu, accell afpr, walboro pump. When exactly is it messing up that you need the safc?
when i WOT on the wideband it says 12 somthing..low 12's which is good...but as the RPMs climb it goes to 14.7-15.0 .once it read that i never accelerated passed that.....somehow the computer wont let the car stay rich..i havent actually tested my red tops yet..but that was done with GMSC injectors which are 310cc injectors and shouldnt be leaning out with those also. I have a feeling that these will do the same.
i could go S-AFC or E-manage also..how do these compare on the ecotec engine?? Any sucess??
As far as the tach signal there is a way that I was able to get on my 2200 cavalier.I had to go and buy a tach adapter.High rev sells them for like $70.Once you get that you just wire up the tach wire to that.
ok well...with a my injectors..adj FPR and intank pump setup with this SAFC-2 will i still need my Cartech FMU?? will the SAFC-2 handle the fuel demand without it?
