I recently bought a oversize crank pulley from Mike Davis. Anyway my problem is I can not find a belt that fits with it to save my life.
I have normal size pulleys with an A/C delete. Supercharger pulley is 2.6 I believe.
I had a 73" belt to start with but its about a 1/2 to 3/4" short i would say. So im thinking a 74 would be perfect. BUT no one has a 74 and I have called everywhere. I have gone through 3 belts so far and none fit. I found a 73 and 7/8" belt yesterday and I thought that should be perfect but the dumb ass gave me a 6 rib instead of 5. They dont carry a 5 rib in that size.
So you guys with oversize pulleys what size are you using? Any help would be awesome.
Thanks

Get the 6 rib belt. Check fit, and if it is right cut the 6th rib off. Samething I had to do. The stock belt is actually a 10 rib that is cut in half.

I tried the 6 rib but its too short. Idk it may work if I cut it cause its not sitting in the pulleys all the way.
I'm still looking for a 5. I don't wanna cut the 6 and if it don't fit I don't wanna be out 35 bucks.
have to cut the belt on my friends sunfire with the larger crank pulley
so do what the one guy said test fit the 6 rib if it fits then cut the rib off almost everyone is trimmin the belt finding such things is hard because unless a car uses that size of belt and is a comon car your might have to special order one in
i have to track down an 8 rib for my car once my intercooler goes in

How long have you been running on the cut belt? I shred mine last night and Im running into the same issues finding one. I ordered a 6 rib and will have it in an hour, but I really dont like the idea of having to cut it.

Over a year. I was running it at the bash last year. Some advise is once you cut it look for pieces hanging out/off of it. These could catch a pulley and start it to come apart. Trim those. You can also position the belt so any flared section do not hit the pulley, but the smooth side hits first. Hope that makes sense.

Im not sure what the last part of that statement means. lol
cutting a belt is ghetto... there has got to be a belt out there long enough....
i know it sucks but you could just go to the parts store and just get a couple at a time til you find one the best length.
im not sure how well it would work but you could try wrapping a string around everything and measuring how long it is then just ask for the length not a part number....
To my knowledge everyone seems to be finding 6, 8, or 10 rib belts, and cutting them down to 5 ribs. If the belt is to tight, it will shred in a very short time period.
John's size of 73.53 inches seems to be working for people with the os crank and 2.5 charger pulley. So I would start at 74 inches and move up from there. My guess is 74-74.5" should be about the sweet spot for you. With the 206" charger and OS pulley.
Are you sure your wrapping the pulleys correctly? When Ken "Twin Charged" was over and he installed a lightweight stock pulley it took some messing around to get the belt on the "correct" way.
We keep trying to put it around the pulleys wrong.
John what is the stock belt length?

I do not think you get it. GM was doing the samething. No one makes a 5 rib in the stock length.
Stock goodyear belt#4100729 list as 72.90(inside) 73.68 (outside). Summit has for $27.69 plus shipping.
I have went ot the parts stored a few times for this and pulled all belts in the lengths, regardless of 5, 6, 8 rib. Never found a 5 rib at a parts store that was close enough.

I shredded 1 rib off my belt so I was able to cut and measure it. I got 73 inches. I picked up my 6 rib belt and will be cutting that, for now...
I will check how much tension is on the tensioner when I put it on tonight and if I can go a little larger, over the winter, I will be ordering a belt according to
this site.
Part # 4050722, 5PK1835. Thats only 3/4 inch smaller than what the kit. And since i have a 2.6 pulley and oversized crank pulley, it might work.

ok wtf gm cuts a belt? i find that very hard to believe.... thats cheesy as hell. pretty sure the belt i got with my kit way back when was not a cut one but dont quote me on that, its been a long ass time.
well i guess thats right, i asked around.
sorry but i gotta say that is beyond lame.

i got a 6 rib and cut one off as well , when i move it in the morning ill look at the part number for ya, 2.6 and md crank pulley
Its a napa belt 25-060739 with 1 rib cut off. Make sure ther is no frays or it will come apart. If you have doubts grab 2 cause I f-ed up the 1st one. Hope that helps. And also I think the idler pulley has been replaced with this kit but I think its the same size.
Well i put the new cut belt on last night, and it shredded again. Aparantly the idiot that assembled my AC delete bracket put the pulley on backwards, so it was out of line. FML.
the gm s/c belt for the m45 is a 10 rib to begin with, you buy the belt for like $30 and then are able to cut it in half with a sharp ass utility knife and then you have 2 belts, had no issues ever and liked having the second belt as a spare

Yea i ended up with a 6 rib. 74 1/8" I believe. And Brad I really tried to find a 5 rib but everyone I called a 74" didnt even exist. Their part numbers went from like 73 to 75 nothing in between.
But ya working good now. Seen 7 psi the other day so pretty happy.
Thanks everyone
