what fuel pumps are good for boosted cavalier?
Racetronix is the way to go. They have been proven to work well by many members on here. I've been using one for about a year now with no issues . I'm running their f body pump with 14v harness.
We put down 474 whp with a racetronix, it works lol
racetronix user i am, 325 whp i made on one.
Another boosted cav with racetronix pump here
racetronix pump in my car
JBO since July 30, 2001
thanks thats what i thought how much do one of those run?
I'm over 300 horsepower with stock fuel pump.
Currently #4 in Ecotec Forced Induction horsepower ratings. 505.8 WHP 414WTQ!!!
Currently 3rd quickest Ecotec on the .org - 10.949 @ 131.50 MPH!!!
Im glad this topic was brought up. I was going to ask the same question. So is the racetronix setup a direct bolt on for the Jbody? Or is it as mentioned above a Fbody pump modified to fit the Jbody?
What about the inline walbro fuel pump?
GMR has got nothing on this
the W body pump from racetronix is direct drop in. no modification needed. and get the harness with it. its well worth it.

x2
That's the one I've got in my car. No problems yet. The harness was easy to install too.
The only thing is, I would upgrade the fittings they supplied. I went to a high PSI fuel injection line and clamps for on the pump.
Some people have been having problems with their lines falling off the pump, but if you install it correctly with the fittings supplied, you should be fine.
The only reason I went to the higher quality stuff, is for peace of mind.
only reason mine came off was because i forgot to cut the end off the venturi to make it a tight fit.
Blazer pump here, over 300whp

Good ol wally 255 for me!
Just to clairfy.
This is the correct pump? W1 pump for W-bodies? What about the harnesses? The W-bodies and LS1 F-bodies both have 2 harnesses listed.
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa
Damn Vince you really are saving my ass tonight....
Edit, looking at that it is the F99 pump and wiring kit.
Edit, again:
W-body pump.
Im still alittle unclear if we use the W- body harness or the F99 harness, but im thinking that since "the pumps are the same" that we can use the F99 harness with the W-body pump.

email them and ask them. i dont think the racetronix racetronix is active on here much anymore. but shoot them an email or email the profile on here that they used and see what you get.
harness isn't nessessary unless your high HP if you think about it the pump is for modified LS1s and LS1s have 350HP stock are you gonn exceed that

Racetronix Racetronix wrote:Just a quick note to our valued customers. The FPA-001 (F99-FPA) is not required for the j-body cars. We offer a W-body pump assembly which is the same as the F-body pump assembly less the external jig which was designed to mimic the diameter of the F-body pump. The W-body pump assembly FPA-007 offers the same performance at a lower price.
For most J-body cars the harness is not required from a performance perspective but as we all know the wiring is questionable at best for supporting the factory pump. It is an inexpensive investment which may help eliminate long-term electrical problems with the factory system.
Please purchase your Racetronix product from vendors who support this forum. Thanks.
^ from racetronix themselves...
harness is cheap, easy, and worth every penny.
