Im wondering if anyone has seen this around? All I can find are knock off brands on ebay, and I dont feel compfortable running one of those in my setup.
Im looking for a big one too. About 2.5"-4" thick, 24"-32" long, 10"-14" tall, with 2.5" inlet and outlet with about a 7"-9" OC dim for the inlet and outlet!
Any help would be great, just need one for spring, because my current one has too much piping and I want a better core! Im looking at gettin a custom one
made but if I can find a pre-manufactured one, that would be even better!
Talk to Hahn Racecraft. Im pretty sure they use one with their Eco stage 2 kits.

i think your going to need to do a core and have one built, bellintercoolers.com has all types of cores, only thing is they are alittle pricey
R.I.P. Brian Klocke, you will never be forgotten

This is my suggestion as well.
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
Treadstoneperformance.com has one that seems to fit r description, just like posted above, but longer.
Thanks Guys! Yes, we do have one...it's the one we use on our Ecotec turbokits for J-body. Direct bolt-on for J, brackets already welded on, hits stock points on the car where the radiator tubular brace installs:
This is it on an older pic of our Sunfire...on a Cav, it fits completely within the stock front fascia. The Sunfire front fascia tilt up at the bottom, a bit unusual...that's why we put a lower splitter lip on ours in its current iteration, to "finish it off".
Here, on a Cavalier with a Razzi nose.

Im looking for something like this!
A BIG ONE!
Its going to be about $450

Hmm. You must be building in excess of 625 engine HP (the effective upper limit of this core). Is this the case? What kind of a monster combo do you have in mind?
Keep in mind that this ours is not a core that flows both ways, unlike your drawing, which would be excessively restrictive. In our design, which is rather unique, the inlet duct is integrated into the intercooler body, and crosses air from one side to the other. If you look at the photos, you'll see the duct...it's the sheet metal attached to one long side of the intercooler core. There's also a divider in the end tank to direct air to the duct.
This core features 637 cubic inches of volume, and has been used to put down 500 WHP with nicely controlled inlet temps. In J-body, we've run low 11's @ 126 MPH with this intercooler in a street-legal car. It will fit without any modification to the bumper support, or "crash bar".

Im looking for 400+ HP, and I dont have any of the front bumper supports.
How much would yours cost?
Make you a deal...I'll match the price, and ours will bolt right up...you even still have the mounting points there!
What were you planning to use to support the front fascia/nose so it does not collapse under aerodynamic pressure (with bumper support removed)?

As advised, the Hahn's IC fits perfectly with no problem or modifications needed. I know, I have one

I will make custom supports, as how I support the intercooler right now.
I make stuff work ..... lol
See the custom front rad support?
Made to fit the super big radiator!!!!!
See the stainless k-member?
See the 1-1/4" aluminum radius rods off the rad support?
I love making stuff, I guess if you want the same amount, lol im going to make mine
I like to make things custom that no one else has!
Dont get me wrong it is a beautiful piece!
I like your project. Yes, I had noticed the other items.
If you'd like something taller, check this model out:
On this one, the core is 24" wide (same as above), but 9.2" tall. It's 3.5" thick as opposed to the 4.5" thick one above. Core volume is about 15% greater overall: 781 cubic inches. Same core as we used on our 640 WHP Sunfire.
Here it is on an Eclipse:

Ok, I really like your work, but I have one stipulatuon.
I need a 6-8" OC dim for the inlet and outlet pipes.
My intercooler piping is already completed and I just
want to upgrade the intercooler with out moding
much else, besides mounting points
Thanks! Got your PM too, and I understand your OC dimension now (on center). Should be no problem at all. If you'd like to pick a specific dimension, we'll build to that (say, 7").

Lol...you friggin' rock, man. I haven't done a "direct bolt-on" mod to my car in
YEARS and I wouldn't have it any other way
Besides, direct bolt-ons cost more!
:BUMP:
Should be getting the core and end tanks today, then I just need to lay it out and have it welded.
I will post pics ASAP
Well I got it!
Taking it to get welded tonight!
My new core 3.5 x 12 x 22
My old intercooler 2.5 x 9 x 22
My new one!
I know I migh have some trouble fitting it inside the stock bumper, but ..... @!#$ happens.
I will have to get out the saw and make it fit, tastefully of course!
thats gonna be one hell of a intercooler
RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
