Seriously I've about had it with the heatsoak issues with superchargers. I'm tired of taking the thing to the track and it putting down stock like times because its dying of heat. I am so frustrated with it being an absolute beast for only half the year then being a dog in the summer. Fact of the matter is turbos just make more power evenly matched. Its like theres nothing I can do to keep it cool. I have every cooling mod imaginable but it still wont do the job.
So I'm thinking along the lines of a 20G kit
Ppl have been telling me this for years (QBE) but i refuse to listen lol

He has seen the light! We are in the middle of a GT3076 on a Slobalt now.. We are thinking of making a kit if interest is there...
P&P Tuning
420.5whp / 359.8wtq
If you waited till next year to realise this, i would take the Harrop.

hell i coulda told you that
all the guys here running s/c are basically putting down mid 13's at best, s/c is good for reliable quick boost, thats it, well on our applications. You can say what you want cause so and so is building their motor and is gonna dominate other's times but honestly out of a m45 or m62 your not going to put down anything crazy.
My m45 motor was built real well and the s/c was under powering the motor defiantly.
I'd like to know what you define as "stock like" times??
Ill stand in line for that blower too....
"Go Before Show Yo."
CARCUSTOMS.NET, THE BEST SERVICE ON THE ORG!!!
Having had both I'll go turbo any day on a 4cyl, or even NA on a V8, but neither screw nor centrifugal sc appeals to me on anything.
Harrop is limited to low 300s without internals, thats just all you can get out of it, which isnt bad, but its not the kinda numbers i want

What are you seeing for IAT temps?
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
How do you feel about parting it out and trading up to an LNF cobalt? Figure you're going to have another five grand into it at least for parts, maybe more if your goals are really over 300whp. This is by no means LSJ hate, just a thought. If you're in it for bragging rights, than build the turbo LSJ, but if you really just want the performance, the LNF is up to the task. >300whp solstice GXPs are becoming common place with the advent of the Wester's garage tune and BTF GT30R kit
I'm sure you already know that tuning is the only thing holding up the LNF.
have you tried an big ass ice bag sitting on the charger between rounds?
dude.. welcome to the ma fluckin club!!
I would get drunk on the oaccasion you swap on a turbo kit...
I have been telling you for YEARS that SC'd 4 cylinders are useless!! like tits on a hog!

IAT2s ive seen as high as 174 at the track at the finish line this past weekend granted thats sitting for about 10 min at idle at running 20psi an M62 would be even higher than that, hell just starting the run one was at 154
icing it wont work, in 30 seconds all the heat is right back up
I'm really not a fan of the LNF motor, its harder to work on and hp tuners is next to impossible to use with it, that @!#$ is a foreign language

there there matt come to pappa QBE's wing and take shelter underneath thee... welcome to the turbo side... the good side

I am surprised to see you hit a 174 degree IAT with the water injection.

Well that seems about normal to me then. Don't let me talk like I know firsthand but everyone I have spoke to swears water injection is make or break for a supercharged car.
I kind of really like the low end power the sc offers. Are you going to miss it if you go turbo? I know I would. Either way I wish you the best of luck.

I'm sure your an avid member of css.net. I was just reading about Jannettyracing's GT30 kit for the lsj. Looks like a conservative 325whp for ~4500$, with reasonable potential for 400whp. They are building the block after 325whp. Is this the end of the line for the LSJ bottome end? That's roughly 380 BHP - not too shabby!!
I didn't realize there were so many turbo converion options for the ss/sc - kinda tells ya something right off the bat. Hmmm what does a used ss/sc go for these days??
On the other hand, you've got MP62 charged LE5 kappas making ~250whp without issue, but the north-south config allows an ingenious intercooling set up. The charger is mounted right above the exhaust mani and it still beats cobalt IAT's...
Good luck either way, I'd love a ride in a turbo LSJ someday
Like i told everyone at last years bash, Eaton, must have water injection to be quick..... Didn't believe me i see.
What kind of times were ya cutting?
