Yeah - I also here the GMPP Supercharger is the best of the 2.4L TC (LD9). While it does provide the 70-80 hp boost that most people would expect (because it's not intercooled), it does provide great reliability. Which is great for a daily driver. Some members are even running mid to high 13 sec 1/4's with this supercharger .

Also there are actually several good companies (at least according to the board members) that provide perfomance parts for the j-bodies. Just look at the Performance section of this board.

I ran the GMPP S/C on my 00 when I had it and my 02. I probably put a total of about 40K miles on it. The only issues I had were my own fault (yep I take responsibility for its failures, not pass the blame) first was I wrecked my 00 and cracked the housing where the TB bolts on, had that welded up and ran it on the 02. While on my 02 I managed to blow out the front snout seal. That was due to a combination of to much oil in the S/C and running a 2.4" pulley on it. I know I was over spinning the S/C but thats what it took to get any decent amount of boost from it. After replacing the seal and starting over with a 2.6" pulley I eventualy worked back down to the 2.4" and ran that up until I switched to turbo. The GMPP S/C is great for a daily driver, but with my engine and spinning the @!#$ out of the S/C I was only making a little over 220HP at th wheels. That was not my goal with the car. However I may still use the S/C on my 98 Z24 an get some more use out of it yet.

Built motor. Its in my registry. I will have to update it when I do the new build. With a stock motor and GMPP S/C 2.8" stosck pulley, 2.3 HO TB, Bills/Stans header, 2.5" exhaust. I put down 191 WHP and about 172 TQ. Built motor with GMPP S/C, 2.4" pulley, OBX 4-1 header, 2.5" dump before cat, and 2.3 HO TB bored to 60mm I put down 226.5 HP and 190.8 TQ at the wheels. The S/C is great for DD use but did not suit me needs as I feel it was basicly maxed out on my engine and S/C reflash.

If you go with a small crank pulley you will not see the full gain from the S/C. As stated above with stock engine, 4-2-1 stans header, 2.5" exhaust, and a 56mm TB I made 191 HP at the wheels. I paid about $2300 for mine after tax when I worked at an Olds dealer. That was back in 04.
