So i am in the middle of the installing my s/c kit, its about time to pull the PCM but what do i use to get the reflash done? Like is it the warrenty paper cuz all i got is the instructions and warrenty paper...i bought the kit used and the guy i bought it from said he never got it that he has hp tune or something like that so i was just hoping someone could help me out with this. Well thanks for any help or advice you can give me.
I assume you have a 2001, do not pull out your PCM, install the larger injectors and drive the car to the GM dealership. Ask them to have the GM s/c reflash (they will have to call and get some numbers, etc) once they finally agree to do the reflash (usually takes about 15-20 minutes) go into the shop with your car and swap in the 2.0 bar map sensor. It will take them about 5 minutes or less to do, they just plug into the OBDII port under your steering wheel and reflash your PCM.
THIS HAS TO BE DONE WITH THE PCM IN THE CAR.

Yeah, forget what the instructions say about reflashing the ECU outside of the car. Most dealers won't have the equipment to do so and those that might, probably won't know how to use it.
Ok Well thanks for the info guys...so wait to put the 2 bar map sensor until i get the car to them?? Does it make a difference or what?
yah, install the 2.0 bar map sensor after the reflash. If you do it before it should run but it will be rough. Just make sure you look where it is and can replace it in a hurry as to not piss off the GM tech.
With the bigger injectors you will hotice extreme rich conditions all the way to the shop (black smoke) just drive it nice and you'll be fine. If you plan on using the GM s/c colder spark plugs you can install those whenever you like.
When you install the injectors, don't be afraid to use a little oil on the O-rings and be gentle, the last thing you want is to tear a ring and have a leak... and don't force them in, I have seen broken injectors because people push too hard.. they will slide right in.

I have the OBPA to program that style PCM at my work and I do know how to use it. Most dealers are reluctant to do the reflash though. And you wil have to provide them with enough information to show GM that they are in fact doing the reflash for the S/C and not for a turbo. I have had the mispleasure of doing this twice. Once was a legit reflash for my 00 when I had it and the other was for an Eco that had a "cough supercharger cough".
Ok well thanks for the info guys i really do appreciate it and will use it wisely. Ill do my damn best not to hurt any part of my car but my friend that is doing most the work/helping me out is really good but neither of us have done a charger kit before so i thought i would ask. Contact Ron Beyer (shifted). He can use HPtuners to install a modified version of the GM reflash. The benefit to this is that it wil be cheaper and you will get better performance. I highly reccomend having shifted tune your PCM.
When I put my kit on I drove for three weeks with kit on before having Shifted tune my pcm. Just drive it real nice like and do not put in the 2 bar map until you get the computer reflashed. If you have any ?s feel free to pm me.

Do you have to send shifted your pcm for him to put in the modded gm reflash and wht do you do if you have hpt and want to do additional tuning?

Ok thanks shifted as soon as my turbo engine gets done and I get it installed I'll pull out my ECU and send it to you to get the modded GM reflash, my engine won't be finished until late May or early June so it will be around that time. Also when I purchase my HPT pro how do I licence it so I can use your modified GM reflash?
