Hey ladies n gents. Im a new guy here and cant wait to contribute as soon as i get more experience with the performance of my car. i have a lot of experience with body, electronics, and interior but performance is where i lack somewhat.
my question is has anyone run a maximum boost turbo kit for the 2.4 liter jbody? Specifically the stage 2 kit, but any advice on their products would be of help. If so, what other modifications have you had when you ran it or are running it, and what kind of power and reliability does it give? Thanks for any and all comments.
search for maximum boost and you will find out
Well I already have. I got all of the information about it from them, but their opinion about it is bound to be biased because it's their product. I was just wondering if anyone here at the forums has ever run one so that I could get an understanding of what an actualy customer thought of the product. Thanx for the post Mr cake.
Maximum Boost is a fraud.
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

There has been some "tension" if you will.
The issue is that apaprently these kits are repackaged eBay parts. I'd throw a link up to the forum, however the search thing doesn't work on my work computer...
The other issue is that for some time, Frank @ MB (I think that's his name) was not a legit business for quite some time while still selling products as a business.
Personally, based on what I posted as well as what you found, I wouldn't trust it to be a quality product unless I get to inspect it in person.

Search these forums for maximum boost. There kits are CRAP. Everything is bought off ebay and then the guy ups the price and sells it to you with no supporting fuel mods and cheep parts. Stick around here and learn about boost and different peoples setups and then build your own setup the right way.

Thanks for the info everybody. That was just about the insight that i was expecting about them. While we're on the subject, is J-tuners still in business, and do they still offer their kit for the 2.4 liter? And also are they about as hated as maximum boost?

Where did you hear about Maximum boost?
Surfin the web. A friend of mine also said that he saw the site and noticed it had stuff for my car on it too. Other than that, i didn't hear about it through any special recommendation from anyone or anything like that.
The guys name is Frank and he tried this @!#$ over a year ago with the Cobalt crowd. Maximumboost is a total scam!

- 95-05 2.2L....
- RC Injectors (320cc)
- T3 60 trim and the compressor housing is a 42ar
- Apexi SAFC II
and this will easily support their claims of 150-160 hp increase. Looks like $4k well spent.
Wait.....wait.....wait...

SORRY TO BRING THIS BACK ...
but i was wondering what happened to MAXIMUMBOOST >>>???????????????????????????????????????
IS HE STILL IN BUSNSSS????
Well, unfortunately the site is gone
(I wanted to see it)
but yea, 320cc injectors on a 2.2l!?!? Planning to run in excess of 40lbs of boost? lol
You're better off researching how to make your own kit and doing so, most online stores suck.
