I have been watching all season with rapt interest as many of you have been visiting the dyno and sharing your results. I have to say, many of the #'s we are seeing lately were just a pipe dream but a few years ago. Breaking 250 wheel horsepower was a big deal, breaking 300 was unheard of... at least without an engine swap.
What's more, you've all been slowly raising the bar, and the support of this has been good. New ways of tuning have been opened up and followed, and it seems that this year, more than ever, we have managed to cover a lot of ground between ourselves and other platforms.
This post is to simply congratulate everybody on their results, and for driving the rest of us to do our best to one-up the current benchmarks that have been set in place. I am almost certain that tracks all over have been surprised by the quick J-bodies that have been showing up and performing so well.
Here's to hoping that next season the bar keeps getting raised and that it inspires the j-body owners following us to keep doing the same. The platform may be dead as far as GM is concerned but it's more than clear that it is now that the J-body is finally coming into its own as far as racing is concerned.
Cheers.

yea it is nice to see some of the projects that have been going on, theres been alot of advances as well all get to know our stuff a little better, shame though that we will never get the respect outside of ourselves , even the cobalts are having a hard time with that

yep... only way anyone can get respect is to drive a srt4, evo, sti, 350, or whatever other "sports" car comes out... for me, everyones hate makes me want to mod it more... im already at the point where i can beat pretty much everyone that hates on me locally though, so they got nothing!!
... anyone faster then my knows about preformance and can respect what us jbo'ers are up against to make our cars fast ..... er, lol

I have have to agree with Sweetness, watching all the dynos and times over the year have kept me going on my turbo/directport setup that I am still peicing together.

You are soo correct. Not to take anyhting away form any other motor for J's, but I think the advances in the LD9 field this year has been great!!!!! We have seen some really impressive LD9's this year, we have also seen impressive Ecotec's as well, and impressive 2200's.
FU Tuning
Amen brother, amen, isn't it fun to maul those smug unsuspecting other sport compact owners! Hopefully next week I'll be getting my W41 cams, HO valve springs and another LD9 so I can start my turbo buildup. I already have a new GM crank, 2.3 oil pump gear, Eagle 4340 forged rods, 8.5:1 Wiesco forged pistons, 086 head, HO cams & intake. And as soon as I hear from Atomic about that stainless turbo header for the 086 head I'll be well on my way.
2000 Z24 5spd header & catback for now.
i still gotta get my pig to the dyno and see how much im putting down as well as to the track, havent tracked it since the meth injection and the tune. great post as well, i know ive gotten alotta respect locally from going from 15.9's to 13.9's in a sunfire....automatic at that.
grats guys... once I get mine tuned I am hitting the dyno
