Quick FMU question
Thursday, June 15, 2006 7:50 AM
Hey guys, i just got my HPTuners software in and im looking to start the tuning tonight and over the weekend. I have the vortech FMU and apexi on the car now, but i am removing the apexi setup. I would like to leave the FMU and just run 1:1 ratio with it, i beleive i remember hearing if you remove the disc from the vortech entirely it makes the FMU a 1:1 is this correct? A quick response would be extremely appreciated, thanks guys.

ok i've got another question for mathematical tuning reference. What is the stock injector size in the Cavalier Z24 and the stock fuel pressure. I had this info written down somewhere before but cannot find it for the life of me. And sorry for not searching more, i don't have the time right now, i need a quick answer thanks guys.

the hanes manual says 1999 ignition key on primes for 1 to 2 sec, 52-58psi after pump stop running 37 to 52 for a least 10 minutes. engine at idle 42 to 55 psi.

thanks for the info man, does anyone happen to know about the FMU??? I need to know if by removing the disc it just makes it a 1:1. In theory it makes perfect sense but i need to know for sure before i go tuning like crazy. If it's a 1:1 i won't even need to remove it but as of right now it's 3:1 and that's the lowest disc i can buy.

Thanks QBE, i am 95% sure if u remove the discs it has to make it a 1:1 or like u said a 0:0. I would just remove the fmu altogether but the way I have mine installed it would seriously be a pain in the ass to do, plus ive got a decent amount of money in all the lines and fittings. And yes maybe a tad bit lazy as well On a side note the HPTuners has been working well thus far, the car has only had very minor modifications to the vcm but it runs so much smoother now and is a ton more driveable. The one thing I am pretty pissed about however is I am still seeing my speed limiter there hmmmmm.

theres 3 settings you need to change for the speed limiter I believe... I know we changed 2 or 3 on mine
