I have been going back and forth about what to do. I have an extra 2200 motor that I can build up for boost. If I do this route, what would need to be done to the tranny so that it could withstand 15 PSI boost. I will more than likely be going for 250hp or so and from what I have read the tranny will not be that reliable to that power point. I know I would need a tranny cooler at the least, but is there anything else I would need? I would have it rebuilt as well. Any help on this subject is greatly appricated.
Thanks,
-Paul
Nothing..... the 2.2l auto tranny will hold that.....
see the tranny is onder pressure all the time.. so you will not snap any axles or the cool dif... that what usuially happens with a 5 speed
horsepower is how hard you hit the wall, Torque is how far you push the wall with you
tranny cooler like you said would help a lot. might want to look into a shift kit also for it. and probably a tq converter and you should be set. unless the clutch packs are warn then replace them too.
